The Social Security Administration requires international students to have the following in order to apply for a SSN:
- A letter from the international student advisor verifying enrollment and authorization to work
- A letter from the employer promising employment
- A valid, stamped form I-20
- Passport
- Visa
- I-94 card
- Application for a SSN
